Our Task for this project was to have a go at building a website with the CMS, Hot Glue.

Playing around with the software it was clear from the start that there were both huge advantages and disadvantages with this program.

It is a fast and effective way of putting content on-line, but if you have an idea of what you would like to do, Hot Glue may not be able to deliver this exactly. Once you get familiar with the tools the program offers, you can quickly start building.
As you can see from the picture of the site, it is possible to share video, sound and other webpages with a few clicks of a button. It is possible to move the webpage and video around, but not the sound clips for some reason.

There is no need to save your masterpiece as all this is done for you and the server is updated in seconds for people to see what has been produced.

On the downside there is no back button, you make a change, you are stuck with it!
After building the site an evaluation was carried out to gather information on how the site came across on different devices and platforms.

As you can see from the table, for the most part, the results were good. When you get down into the smaller screen sizes, there begins to be problems with the viewer having to do an awful lot of scrolling. There is also the issue of blank space on the larger screens. Getting the site to look good on most screens would be the best outcome possible with this CMS.
Although the site looks bright and unorganised it was produced in a matter of minutes with no prior knowledge of the program and with no code required.

I found that in this short space of time I really enjoyed Hot Glue, limitations and all. It took a little getting used to, but when I realised that there is usually a way around these limitations, like making things in Photoshop.
