App Furnace is a development tool that enables a used to build apps for mobile devices in a drag and drop fashion.

This was an extreamley fun project. Making my very own app for something the world is in desperate need of. A shopping list app.

To begin with I just messed around on AppFurnace getting to know the tools exploring the geo-location capabilities and having fun. Making an app that displayed a page when you went in a certain area.

Here is a video showing the app in use. It works very well. Sadly getting a video of the app when the reminder screen appeared proved more difficult. There are some well placed screen shots to illustrate the main screens in the app.
This original app showed that it is possibly to build stuff quickly in AppFurnace, but without direction it is easy to become lost in a web of buttons that go nowhere and pages with no purpose.
From here I sat down and planned what app I was going to make and what functions, screens and buttons I wanted it to have.

I did mind-maps and made wireframes in Photoshop before continuing.
I continued from here to make a prototype of the shopping list app. Some trouble arose here as the wireframe and mapping was not stuck to and extra pages and functions were added.

It was when showing it to other people that the the redundancy of some pages and functions was noticed. For example a map popped up when you were at the supermarket telling you where you were.

After this i went back to the plans and built the final product.
The finished product was a working shopping list app that reminded you of your items when you came in range of a supermarket.

After playing with the settings it was possible to get this app to work and look as it should on all phones and platforms, as this is what would be required from a real app.
